Hello
I'm an action-oriented advocate for community development, environmental stewardship,
and a more caring Comox.
Meet Jenn
I was born in Invermere, BC, attended high school in Qualicum Beach and completed my university Bachelor of Arts degree in Nanaimo before spending several years on the Lower Mainland. I moved back to the Island to Comox in the spring of 2019 with my husband, two children, and many four-legged friends.
I’m currently working as a Manager of Community Disaster Recovery with Emergency Management BC. I have more than two decades of experience leading and supporting initiatives and collaborative networks in the fields of sustainability and climate action, community development, organizational development, and systems change.
I will bring a rich diversity of experience to my work as a Councillor for Comox including financial management; team leadership and culture building at MEC; driving change initiatives in the municipal government sector; and building organizations in the non-profit sector.
I'm an active volunteer, focusing on community and environmental health and food systems. I’m the Board Co-Chair of LUSH Valley Food Action Society, a member of the local Food Policy Council and of the Coordinating Circle for the Comox Valley Community Health Network. Previously as a volunteer, I co-founded a non-profit nature-based elementary school program and was on the board of the Átl'ka7tsem/Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative in the Salish Sea.
